Oracle Assets Introduction

Oracle Assets (FA) is an asset management system used to maintain property and equipment inventory and support accounting and tax strategies, procedures, and controls. FA is a sub ledger to the Oracle General Ledger application and also has integration points to the Accounts Payable and Project Accounting applications.

Asset Setup Steps	Asset Set up Steps show the tasks to set up the Oracle Assets Application in the order they should be performed.
Asset Mass Additions	Mass additions process lets you add new assets or cost adjustments from other systems to Oracle Assets.
Asset Books	Corporate and Tax Book Maintenance.
Asset Depreciation	Run the depreciation concurrent processes to process calculations for all assets in an asset book. Use these processes to close the current period and open a new accounting period.
Asset Budgeting	Capital Budgeting processes can be used to project depreciation expense for capital budgets. Also, it is possible to compare actual vs. planned (budgeted) spending in FA.
Subledger Accounting	Sub-ledger accounting is a new feature which enhances the functionality in Oracle General Ledger Applications by defining how journal entries are generated from subledger transactions at the subledger application level. The options are set up for the primary and secondary ledgers only and through the General Ledger's Accounting Setup Manager. A Set of Books in Release 11 is now a Ledger with its own Ledger Set in Release 12. Sub Ledger Accounting will return the accounting as the earlier releases of the accounting engine did.
